AIRBAGS INFORMATION
1.1 Definition
Ship launching air bags is one air bag used for launching a vessel made of synthetic tire cords and rubber. Ships’ launching with marine airbags is an flexible launching technology in shipbuildings, no need of fixed launching track.
1.2 Size
1.2.1 Diameter of air bag (D) varies such as 0.8m, 1.0m, 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m, 2.0m etc.
1.2.2 Length of air bag (L) is to be specified by user.
1.3 Rated working pressure
1.3.1 maximum allowable internal pressure of the marine airbag while supporting a weight or load equal to the rated bearing capacity of the air bag.
EQUIPMENT AND OPERATION PROCEDURE OF SHIP LAUNCHING WITH AIRBAGS
2.1 Ship
2.1.1 Finished all engineering works of the ship including installation.
2.2 Slipway
2.2.1 Clean the slipway, no sharp stones, keep it clear.
2.3 Airbags
2.3.1 Airbags should be good quality, test inner pressure before usage. Calculate quantity of airbags required.
2.4 Winch
2.5 Air Compressor
2.6 Operative Launching Procedure
2.6.1 Clear all the obstackles away from the slip way especially those ahead of airbags rolling path.
2.6.2 Fasten the ship to the moving tackle of winch with guy rope.
2.6.3 Remove all the docking blocks under the ship bottom and put the rolling airbags instead until the ship wholly born upon rolling air-bags.
2.6.4 Start the winch, release the wire from the winch and set the ship moving to the water with airbags.
2.6.5 Adjust the launching speed.
